“Feathered cats”.

Posted: November 22, 2010 in Animals

When I was 8 years old, I came to conclusion that owls are the feathered version of cats. Just look at them, they are both nocturnals, both gifted with perfect night vision, they are about the same size, and some species of owls look kind of similar to cats….

For example, that’s one representative of Horned owls.

And that’s my home-mate tabby Felis catus, Mars.

I don’t know how about you, but I still find their appearance to be somewhat similar to each other..

Of course, it was years before I started to study Biology properly and learn about Taxonomy of living things, so, back then, in 2000-2001, I couldn’t see how stupid my idea was.. But it was fun to realize that I came to such conclusion by myself, by deriving facts and comparing them….

I don’t know why did this particular thing just pop-up in my memory a few minutes ago. I guess, I just needed to post something :)
